What is the difference between the Shrey Classic Steel and the Shrey Koroyd Titanium?
The Classic Steel is Shrey’s reliable, well-built helmet for club and school level play — ABS shell, EPS foam liner, steel grille, rotary adjustment, certified to BS 7928:2013. It weighs around 880 grams and does everything a proper cricket helmet needs to do at an accessible price. The Koroyd Titanium is Shrey’s premium model — it uses Koroyd crumple zone technology for significantly more advanced impact absorption, a top-grade titanium visor, and weighs just 730 grams. If you’re playing serious competitive cricket against genuine pace bowling, the Koroyd Titanium is the better investment. For school cricket, club nets, and regular match play at recreational to club level, the Classic Steel is the right choice.
Is the Shrey Classic Steel helmet certified for competitive cricket in India?
Yes. The Classic Steel is certified to BS 7928:2013 + A1 2019 — the same international standard that applies to cricket helmets at professional level. It has been tested with both the 4¾ oz junior ball and the 5½ oz senior ball. It is fully approved for competitive play at school, district, club, and association level.
How do I find the right size?
Measure the circumference of your head just above the eyebrows using a soft tape measure. Small fits 55–58cm, Medium fits 58–61cm, Large fits 60–63cm, and XLarge fits 62–65cm. If you’re between sizes, go with the larger option and use the rotary adjustment dial to dial in the fit. Can I wash the sweat band inside the helmet?
Yes. The Shrey Classic Steel has a removable and washable swoppa band — pull it out, hand wash it, let it air dry, and put it back. We recommend washing it after every 3–4 sessions to maintain hygiene and comfort. Four spare velcro sets are included in the box so you can replace the attachment velcro if it wears out over time.
Is the steel grille fixed or removable on the Classic Steel?
The grille is fixed — it does not detach. This is actually a strength of the Classic Steel’s design. A fixed grille is structurally stronger and more stable than a removable clip-on grille. It won’t loosen over time, won’t rattle during play, and won’t shift position when a ball makes contact. The silver powder coat finish on the steel also reduces glare and resists corrosion from sweat and rain.

The Shrey Classic Steel weighs approximately 880 grams — which is heavier than the Koroyd Titanium (730g) but typical for a well-built ABS and steel visor helmet at this level.
